Getting to chicago
O'Hare International Airport (ORD)
Located 20 miles (32 kilometers) from downtown Chicago, O'Hare International Airport provides excellent transport links to Chicago by public transport, hire car or shuttle service.
Midway International Airport (MWD)
Located 10 miles (16 kilometers) from downtown Chicago. One of the fastest growing airports in the continent, Chicago Midway Airport serves over 17 million travelers each year.
OCTOBER CLIMATE
Reputed to be the Windy City, Chicago actually ranks 14th for wind velocity in the U.S. Chicago's winters are mostly sunny with an average of 30 inches of snow for fine cross-country skiing. Average temperatures in October range from a high of 63 and a low of 42 Fahrenheit. It is recommended to bring a jacket and/or sweater during your visit.
CURRENCY
The monetary system in the United States is based on dollars and cents. Most US businesses also accept travelers’ cheques. International currency exchange services are available at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport and throughout the city.
