Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be the first official event of the conference and will give delegates the opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. This will also be a great opportunity to converse with the exhibits as the Welcome Reception will take place in the Exhibit Hall.
Opening Ceremonies
Monday, August 10 ● 08:30 – 10:00
Exhibition Hall E, CTCC
Don’t miss this unique journey into the history of Canadian Parasitology, in addition to official welcomes from local dignitaries. A First Nations ceremony will enchant delegates as it opens the first full day of WAAVP 2009. This will be an opening not to be missed.
President’s Reception
Heritage Park, Calgary ● 19:00 – 21:00
Step into the 1930s/40s and experience history in the making and the wild west of Heritage Park Historical Village. This location will host the President’s and is sure to give you a taste of the Wild West. Delegates will be transported from the Convention Centre to the Park.
Closing Gala Dinner
Thursday, August 13
Imperial Ballroom, Hyatt Regency ● 19:00 – 23:00
The conference social programme culminates on the Thursday night with the Closing Gala Dinner. A highly enjoyable evening awaits everyone with lively entertainment, scrumptious food and some surprises all followed by ample time to kick up your heels and dance the night away.
