Call for Papers

Abstracts for the 18th World Conference on Gifted and Talented Children are now being accepted by online submission. The deadline for abstract submissions will be January 19, 2009. Please visit the conference website at www.worldgifted2009.com for submission guidelines and instructions.

Social Events

Opening Ceremony
Monday, August 3 (17:00 – 19:00)
The Opening Ceremony will set the tone for the Conference with official remarks and local entertainment featuring the Le-La-La Dancers, a First Nations traditional dance troupe.    

Welcome Reception
Monday, August 3 (19:00 – 21:00)
All delegates are invited to attend the Welcome Reception to be held in the Exhibit Hall. Don’t miss this first opportunity to renew old acquaintances and network with your peers while enjoying cuisine from the various food stations highlighting the regional foods of Canada.

Sunset Cruise*
Wednesday, August 5 (19:30 - 22:30)
A short motorcoach transfer takes you to the marina where you board a private yacht and sail off for a scenic cruise on Vancouver’s coastal waters. Spectacular scenery of evergreen mountains, an ever-changing city skyline, and a bustling harbour are all part of this memorable evening, including a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.

Conference Banquet*
Thursday, August 6 (19:30 – 23:00)
Please, join us for an exclusive dinner, featuring regional cuisine, award-wining B.C. wines, and a prominent Hollywood producer. Dean McFlicker, of NBC fame, will present how he has risen to success in his career with the benefits of a solid educational background.

*Tickets for the Sunset Cruise and Conference Banquet are sold seperately and are not included in the basic registration fee.
