Types of Presentation
Oral Presentations
Only the most significant abstracts have been accepted for an Oral Presentation to be presented in Proffered Paper Sessions at the Conference. Each abstract presenter will have the chance to present their work in a 8min presentation followed by a 2min question and answer period. Two invited speakers in each session will be discussing the presented abstracts. Please see the Scientific Programme page for further information about topics, abstracts and speakers.
ePoster Presentations
In addition to Oral Presentations the Scientific Committee has selected a number of outstanding abstracts to be presented as ePosters (Electronic Posters) which will also be highlighted in Poster Discussion Sessions.
The Electronic Poster System is a new approach to present scientific research. An ePoster is an electronic version of the traditional boards. Access to your ePoster is no longer restricted to the day of your poster presentation. Delegates will be able to view your ePoster at any time during and after the Conference at ePoster stations in the Exhibit Hall or through a link provided at the Conference Website at the time of the Conference. ePoster presenters can take interested colleagues to the ePoster stations to show and present, to explain and discuss their ePoster at any time of the Conference.
An intelligent search function helps finding any presentation within seconds. The system allows an easy, self-explanatory navigation for the user. Delegates will also be able to send messages to the authors of the ePosters and email a pdf version of the ePoster to their email address.
If your abstract has been accepted for an ePoster presentation you do NOT need to print a poster, you only have to submit your presentation online. Please click here to view the ePoster submission guidelines.
Further information about ePosters and Poster Discussion Sessions are to be found on the Scientific Programme page.
Poster Presentations
Most of the abstracts will be presented as Posters to be displayed on Poster Boards in the Exhibit Hall. Please see the Scientific Programme page for further information on topics, display and author stand by times.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED
The 13th World Conference on Lung Cancer Scientific Committee is inviting the submission of scientific abstracts for proffered paper and poster sessions.
Download the detailed Abstract Submission Guidelines (PDF format)
Authors are asked to submit abstracts under one of the following 25 categories:
|
|
The research work submitted should be original, innovative and should not have been presented elsewhere.
Abstracts must be in English and contain a maximum of 500 words. A data table may be included where
required, but will count as 100 words against the 500 word total. A maximum of 2 image files may also be
included, but each image will count as 100 words against the 500 word total. All abstracts accepted by the
Scientific Committee will be published in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, and submission of an abstract implies
consent by the authors to have the abstract published by that journal. The Scientific Committee will review all
submitted abstracts, and will determine if an abstract is to be presented orally, by poster, or by publication only.
Abstracts failing to meet minimum standards or are not relevant to this Conference will be declined. Authors may submit multiple abstracts, but usually an individual will not be offered more than one oral presentation.
Please submit your Abstract via the Online Submission Form.
Presenting Authors of Accepted Abstracts are required to register for the Conference by 19 June 2009. Please take advantage of the early registration fee by submitting your registration to the Conference Secretariat by 15 May 2009.
Authors of submitted abstracts will be informed of the Abstract Review Committee’s decision starting 8 May 2009.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 13 MARCH 2009 (17:00 PST)
EXTENDED to TUESDAY 17 MARCH 2009 (17:00 PST)
