On behalf of the International Association for the Study of Lung
Cancer (IASLC) and the Local Organizing Committee, we are pleased to
invite you to the 13th World Conference on Lung Cancer (13th WCLC) in
San Francisco, California from July 31st to August 4th, 2009. More than
6,000 participants are expected; please join us in this unique scientific
and cultural experience.
This is an exciting time for those in the lung cancer field. The 13th World
Conference on Lung Cancer will be a great opportunity for lung cancer
professionals from around the world to share the most up-to-date
information regarding the science and advances in the treatment of lung
cancer. More than 200 invited lung cancer specialists from a wide range of
disciplines will participate in the Scientific Programme and their presentations
will provide delegates with information on the latest developments in basic
science and clinical treatment. We anticipate that information from more than
1400 scientific abstracts will be presented in oral sessions, poster discussion
and poster sessions. A special Young Investigator's Day will be held on Thursday,
July 30th, with special topics of great interest to young investigators.
In addition to the outstanding Scientific Programme, visitors will be able to
enjoy the culture and sights of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Your options
are limitless with the Golden Gate Bridge, fantastic views from Coit Tower
and Alcatraz, many fantastic restaurants and shopping areas, the beautiful
Pacific Ocean, or a short trip to the famous Wine Country or the beautiful
coast of Monterrey. There are many excursions to suit your interests. August
is a wonderful time to visit, and we encourage you to extend your trip and
get to know the rest of California as well.
We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco for a stimulating and
enjoyable Conference.
